The International Society for the Study of Subtle Energy and Energy Medicine was begun in 1989 by Dr. Elmer Green, the father of biofeedback. Officially Energy Medicine includes all interactions between body and mind, as well as magnetic, electric, electromagnetic, acoustic and gravitational effects upon body and mind. Since everything we know about the universe and about life is based upon these same factors, one could theoretically say that Energy Medicine is the most comprehensive term for all aspects of healing. ISSSEEM is, however, not devoted to the usual allopathic approaches of drugs or surgery. During the past 30 years we have witnessed the blossoming of many ''alternatives'' to allopathic approaches: Holistic Medicine, Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Integrative Medicine being the most widely known. Interestingly, on Google, Energy Medicine has more listings than Holistic, CAM and Integrative combined.
The 17th annual meeting of ISSSEEM will take place in Boulder, Colorado June 21 to 27, focusing on ''The Science of the Miraculous.'' This exciting meeting will explore the interface between known and unknown fields of healing, consciousness and field theories, including Zero Point, warping of time and space, the power of group consciousness, the effect of the observer on all energetic interactions and the ability to influence past and future.
The 2007 conference features:
- Matthew Fox, the priest, who was forbidden to teach by Cardinal Ratzinger (now Pope Benedict XVI), and who is the leading exponent of Creation Spirituality and a proponent of a new Reformation in Christianity
- John Hagelin, Ph.D., theoretical physicist who specializes in superstring theory and integrates meditation and yoga into his concepts of global transformation, a new world order of affluence and peace based on the unity of life in higher states of consciousness
- Freddy Silva is today one of the world's foremost experts on crop circles, sacred space, and consciousness. He is the best-selling author of Secrets in the Fields: The Science and Mysticism of Crop Circles, hailed by many as the most comprehensive and multi-disciplinary study ever undertaken into this fascinating phenomenon. He has also just released the DVD documentary Stairways to Heaven: The Practical Magic of Sacred Space, written and directed by himself.
